Your One-Stop-Shop for Window Coverings and Specialty Shapes| A+ Blinds

Unique window shapes do add character to your home, but they come with unique demands. You will need to install shutters and blinds not just to control the amount of light that comes in, but also to ensure privacy. What to do? At+ Binds can help! We are a specialty shop for window coverings in both specialty and standard shapes, and we have all the products and resources you need to make your home beautiful without sacrificing functionality.

How to Know Which Type of Window Coverings and Specialty Shapes Should You Buy

Contemporary homes are not governed by the rules of tradition. That means that designers and architects bend the rules of what whatever window shapes are fashionable at the time. Of course, this creates additional challenge for companies like us that distribute blinds and shutters, among others. Below are just some of the shapes that we encounter in our projects:

  • Trapezoid – which has asymmetrical sides
  • Triangle – three equidistant sides
  • Octagonal – which has eight points, as opposed to hexagon which features six points
  • Arch and half-arch – the most common among the unique window shapes
  • Skylights – As the term suggests, these are typically located in the ceiling which goes directly through the roof. The idea is to let the light come in and save on electricity, plus they add another dimension to the home.
  • These are typically fixed windows and while their shapes may be different from your traditional design, installation is easy if you know what you are doing, which we do.

But there’s a trickier challenge

Remember what we said about fixed window frames? Designers present us with unique challenges when they conceptualize bay and corner windows that open and shut with sliding windows. These fixtures add another level of complexity to light control, privacy and solar heat transfer.

The best thing about being in business for so long is that there's nothing out there that we haven’t seen yet. As a result, we have in our arsenal a full gamut of products that can address all your window covering needs and specialty shapes requirements.

Are smart shutters right for me?

Remote shades can be an excellent option during summer months, when you don't want the sun's rays to envelop your whole home via skylight. Allowing them entry could lead to an incredibly humid atmosphere, but getting up on a ladder and closing the shades manually can be a massive hassle.

Our solution? Control the amount of light that comes in via remote. This adds a tremendous level of convenience to your home, allowing you to easily cover windows in hard-to-reach places. Remote blinds are not applicable on skylights alone. We have the technology and knowhow to install smart shutters and blinds throughout your home.

We also feature options like top-down/bottom-up shutters and cordless or tilt-only sidelights which offer both privacy and light control simultaneously.
